Lake Region Repair was founded by Sam & Barbara Mahaffey in 2002. The Mahaffey’s vison was to create a business that offered recreational product sales and support for Lake Anna and surrounding area markets. Their prior business backgrounds provided the experience needed to grow and operate the business successfully. More importantly their passion for water sports and most types of power sports drove them to enjoy their work and offer their customers a quality experience. In 2021 after nearly twenty years of ownership Sam & Barb decided to move on to a well-deserved retirement.
In 2021, Trina and Harold Ruckle purchased Lake Region Repair. Trina has been working in the areas of customer service and sales since 2004. In addition, Trina has also served as the office manager and book keeper for the business. Trina’s established customer relationships and extensive experience with the business is sure to lead to a smooth transition of ownership. Since 2001, Harold has been a teacher in Spotsylvania County Schools. Harold plans to work at the business after school and during breaks. The Ruckle’s look forward to continuing existing customer relationships while also welcoming new customers.
Both Trina and Harold share the same passion for power sports as the Mahaffey’s. They enjoy boating, camping, ATV’s and are car enthusiasts. The experience of enjoying these activities with our own family & friends fuels our desire to make these activities equally as rewarding for all our customers who wish to enjoy these same type of recreational activities.
Our product focus is to select a leading product line in a given product segment and focus all of our energies in the marketing and support of that product. Ideally that product will be a market leading product manufactured in the United States.
Our support focus is to have our service and sales staff thoroughly trained and certified by the manufacturer's that we represent. Our service technicians take annual training and our shop is supplied with the tools and diagnostic equipment necessary to support today's computer controlled products. We stock those parts & support items needed on a routine basis and endeavor to have multiple sources of supply where possible.
Our staff focus is to have friendly, courteous personnel who enjoy their jobs and realize that our job is to make our customers feel welcome and to fulfill their requirements as quickly and efficiently as possible. We focus on the current customer being served and take the time to address all their questions or needs and appreciate the patience of those who may be required to wait a while for service knowing that they will receive the same focused attention at the earliest possible moment.
Additionally, we offer pick-up and delivery service as well as on-site service calls for all products. We have two dedicated Service Trucks equipped for on-site service and one dedicated pick-up and delivery truck.
ShoreMaster Docks and lifts are typically delivered and installed by LRR staff but can also be purchased directly for those who prefer to "do it" themselves.
Dana Smith - Documentation Coordinator & Sales Person
Dana has been with LRR since February of 2006. She prepares all the documentation to title, register and warranty register all units sold at LRR. She is also a qualified Sales Person on the boat, PWC, and trailer products represented at LRR. She is also familiar with parts look-up and can assist you with your parts & accessory requirements.
Nancee Gibson - Service Coordinator & Sales Person
Nancee has been with LRR since May 2017. She schedules service appointments to be completed both at the shop and at your home. Nance also processes completed work orders and arranges pickup and deliveries.
Sharon - Parts Coordinator Sharon is a new addition to our team in 2020.
She handles ordering all parts for the showroom along with service parts needed for the shop. If there is something you need and don’t see it just ask.

Joey Wood - Mechanic/Sales Person
Joey has been with LRR since February 2006 and previously worked at another dealership purchased by us. He is very experienced and extremely capable on PWCs, Boats (inboards, outboards, & I/O) and also provides on-site repairs for our customers. He is BRP and Mercury Certified on all products sold at our dealership. His technical knowledge makes him a great resource to prospective customers as he knows the products from both a technical and operational standpoint. Joey has a daughter (Jaiden) and likes to ride dirt bikes, fish with his Dad and accessorize his own vehicles.
